Preah Vihear: Thai Government Premature Celebration

The Preah Vihear legal team returned to a hero’s welcome in Thailand despite the fact that they did little or nothing to sway the International Court of Justice in their interpretation of the 1962 Preah Vihear Hindu Temple verdict awarding the temple to Cambodia. The Preah Vihear interpretation is at the request of Cambodia prior to Preah Vihear being granted World Heritage Status.

Minister Of Tourism And Sports: Please Focus On Domestic Tourism

It appears the the new Minister of Tourism and Sports, electrical engineer Somsak Phurisrisak, is a busy guy. First, he has the staff that come under the new Minister of Tourism and Sports busily slapping together a Thailand Master Plan for Tourism to present to the Thai Cabinet in about 10 days, and, second, he is now going to have to deal with the President of the Association of Domestic Travel. Minister of Tourism and Sports Full English Breakfast So, the new, totally unqualified Minister of Tourism and Sports, will now have to deal with the local tourism group and also keep the Prime Minister of Thailand, Yingluck Shinawatra, happy by getting her 30 million foreign tourists and have them spend 2 trillion Thai baht by 2015.

Instead of arguing that Preah Vihear is actually on Thai soil, the Thai delegation resorts to ridiculous claims, name calling, and whining like a spoiled child. th h Preah Vihear Why Thailand Will Lose I keep reading that the Thai delegation is doing a wonderful job, Thailand’s Prime Minister is happy so far with the court battle, and the Thai Military claims they will honor the ruling of the ICJ on Preah Vihear.

Preah Vihear: Thailand Grasping At Straws

The Governments of Thailand and Cambodia are at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) this week duking it out over the temple ruins of Preah Vihear (Phra Viharn). Cambodia’s representatives have presented the first part of their oral argument asking the International Court of Justice to interpret the Preah Vihear 1962 ruling.  Cambodia, so far, has made a strong case on Preah Vihear and it looks like Thailand continues to beat a dead horse. Preah Vihear Temple Ruins Thailand will get its opportunity to present today, but from early news reports, the Thai Government Officials have nothing new to say about Preah Vihear and will continue to claim that the ICJ has no jurisdiction in the Preah Vihear case.  Wrong, wrong, wrong
