Sakon Nakhon: “In Search Of” Road Trip 5 May 2013
My buddy Tom at Isaan-Live started putting together a Sakon Nakhon road trip for the two of us and planned it out for after Songkran. Initially, it was to look for some Seri Thai, Free Thai Movement, locations in Sakon Nakhon and get as much information as we could about this WWII operation with the OSS (Office of Strategic Services – forerunner of the CIA) and the British SOE (Special Operations Executive). Lunch in Khon Kaen The road trip to Sakon Nakhon actually started a couple days prior with Tom and Daeng coming to Khon Kaen for a couple of days and Tom and I looking for Camp Khon Kaen before heading to Sakon Nakhon . The day before the road trip was to kick off, Tom and Daeng came over to the house in time for lunch and spent the rest of the day and night with me and my wife before heading out the next morning.
